surface_fit op• Data kinds: poly_surface × image2d × image2d → image2d
• Call: import fullseye as fs; fs.ledger.eval_poly_surface(model, x, y) (to call the implementation directly, import match3d; match3d.eval_poly_surface(model, x, y); from the registry, ops3d.get("eval_poly_surface"))
Evaluate the model at (x,y) → z (returned in the shape of x).
*model* is the return value (dict) of fit_poly_surface. fail-closed: passing the tck of a B-spline surface/curve (a FITPACK list) used to crash at model["degree"] with TypeError: list indices must be integers... (measured 7 times on 2026-09-01). Polynomial models and B-spline models have different contents, so they are rejected explicitly here (the ops3d ledger also keeps the types poly_surface / bspline_surface separate).
Raises ValueError: model is not a polynomial-model dict / a required key is missing.
