wipe_coverage — DRIVE polish op

• Data kinds: image2d × scalar → table

• Call: import fullseye as fs; fs.ledger.wipe_coverage(image, res: 'float', threshold='otsu', coat=None, optical_depth: 'float' = 1.3862943611198906, bare: 'float' = 0.85, min_area: 'int' = 4) -> 'dict' (to call the implementation directly, import polish; polish.wipe_coverage(image, res: 'float', threshold='otsu', coat=None, optical_depth: 'float' = 1.3862943611198906, bare: 'float' = 0.85, min_area: 'int' = 4) -> 'dict'; from the registry, opsdrive.get("wipe_coverage"))

Usage

Reads from the image the area that was wiped (bright = where the film disappeared). Binarization and connected components via detect.segment_objects (Otsu by default). Returns area (wiped pixels × res² [m²]), fraction, largest_area, n_regions, mask, threshold (Otsu threshold, estimated as the midpoint between the minimum of the wiped side and the maximum of the remaining side) and, if coat is given, residual_at_threshold (the remaining film thickness implied by the threshold brightness — the band read is where "removal ≥ h0 − this thickness"). Raises ValueError: image checks, res ≤ 0, neither wiped nor remaining areas (the threshold cannot be determined).

References (sample data, literature)

• Sample-data catalog (download URLs / licences) — 2-D uses skimage.data (BSD/public domain) plus synthetic images; 3-D lists download URLs for real data sources (Stanford, PDS, …).

• Operator provenance and references — the sources of the research/methods this op family came from.

• The canonical algorithm (author, year) and its uses are named in the family usage guide above.
