synth op• Data kinds: none → pairs (an op determined by its arguments alone — it takes no image or data input)
• Call: import fullseye as fs; fs.ledger.profile_synth_naca4(code='2412', n=161, closed_te=False) (to call the implementation directly, import profileops; profileops.profile_synth_naca4(code='2412', n=161, closed_te=False); from the registry, opsprofile.get("profile_synth_naca4"))
Generates a NACA 4-digit airfoil in closed form. Returns an (N, 2) outline traced in a single continuous stroke.
code is 4 digits (e.g. "2412" = camber 2 %, position 40 %, thickness 12 %). Points are placed with a cosine distribution to make the leading edge dense.
closed_te selects whether to use the coefficient that closes the trailing edge. The default is the historical coefficient (0.1015), with which the trailing edge is slightly open. The closing version is 0.1036. Which one is used changes measurements near the trailing edge, so if you use it as ground truth, fix it and write it down.
Returns:
(2*n-1, 2). In the order trailing edge → upper surface → leading edge → lower surface → trailing edge (Selig style).
