Creates a family of shapes with known modes of deformation. → (n_shapes, n_points, 3).
The base shape is quasi-uniform points on an ellipsoid, to which orthonormal deformation modes are added with known weights. Mode 1 is stretching along the long axis, mode 2 is left-right bending. When fed to shape_pca, the variance ratio of the principal components should match the ratio of mode_scale to the power of 2, and that is the cross-check of the statistical shape model.
noise is the standard deviation of per-point isotropic Gaussian noise (the component the model does not capture).
