Markets close mixed as tech leads

Wall Street ended Friday with mixed signals as technology shares rallied while energy retreated on softer crude prices.

The S&P 500 rose 0.3% while the Dow slipped 0.1%. Bond yields were little changed.

Tech leads the tape

Shares of several large-cap technology names gained on reports of stronger enterprise AI spending. Analysts at Research Co raised price targets on three of the five names.

Energy softens

Crude fell 1.2% on the session, pressuring integrated oil majors.
