scoop op• Data kinds: scalar × scalar → table
• Call: import fullseye as fs; fs.ledger.scoop_synth_side(a_px: 'float', h_px: 'float', *, fill: 'float' = 1.0, heap_frac: 'float' = 0.0, phi_deg: 'float' = 30.0, pitch: 'float' = 0.0001, margin_px: 'int' = 10, supersample: 'int' = 8, noise: 'float' = 0.0, seed: 'int | None' = None) -> 'dict' (to call the implementation directly, import scoop; scoop.scoop_synth_side(a_px: 'float', h_px: 'float', *, fill: 'float' = 1.0, heap_frac: 'float' = 0.0, phi_deg: 'float' = 30.0, pitch: 'float' = 0.0001, margin_px: 'int' = 10, supersample: 'int' = 8, noise: 'float' = 0.0, seed: 'int | None' = None) -> 'dict'; from the registry, opsdrive.get("scoop_synth_side"))
Synthesizes the side-view coverage of powder in a spherical-cap bowl (axisymmetric; ground truth in closed form).
• fill ∈ (0, 1]: fill flat up to the depth fraction from the bottom y = fill·h (must be 1 if heap_frac > 0).
• heap_frac ∈ [0, 1]: on top of the level fill, a cone with base radius b = heap_frac·a and angle of repose φ (a heap grown by pouring into the middle).
• Returns: side (transparent bowl = coverage with all contents visible), side_above (only above the rim = the image of a metal bowl seen from the side), rim_row (row boundary at rim height: from row rim_row downward is below the rim), axis_col (column coordinate of the axis; pixel edges are integers), truth (V [m³] closed form, V_struck, V_heap, fill, heap_frac, phi_deg), pitch.
The synthesis and revolution_volume_side share the same axisymmetric model, so a noise-free round trip is a plumbing check (independent subjects are the elliptical heap of two_view_volume and MuJoCo spheres). Raises ValueError: out of range, heap placed with fill < 1.
• Sample-data catalog (download URLs / licences) — 2-D uses skimage.data (BSD/public domain) plus synthetic images; 3-D lists download URLs for real data sources (Stanford, PDS, …).
• Operator provenance and references — the sources of the research/methods this op family came from.
• The canonical algorithm (author, year) and its uses are named in the family usage guide above.
