crossing op• Data kinds: none → scalar (an op determined by its arguments alone — it takes no image or data input)
• Call: import fullseye as fs; fs.ledger.sight_triangle_distance(eye_offset: 'float', eye_distance: 'float', corner_offset: 'float', corner_distance: 'float') -> 'float' (to call the implementation directly, import drivecrossing; drivecrossing.sight_triangle_distance(eye_offset: 'float', eye_distance: 'float', corner_offset: 'float', corner_distance: 'float') -> 'float'; from the registry, opsdrive.get("sight_triangle_distance"))
How far along the track can be seen when there is a building at the corner (sight triangle).
Track = x axis (y = 0), road centre = x = 0. Eye = (eye_offset, −eye_distance), building corner = (corner_offset, −corner_distance); the building occupies x ≥ corner_offset and y ≤ −corner_distance (the side beyond the corner, corner_offset > eye_offset). Return value = x of the farthest visible point on the track (from the road centre). If corner_distance ≥ eye_distance (the building does not protrude closer to the track than the eye), there is no obstruction: ∞. The left side uses the same formula with x mirrored.
