# comfy-agent

The Comfy agent for [ComfyUI](https://github.com/Comfy-Org/ComfyUI), from [Comfy Org](https://www.comfy.org): the same agent as Comfy Cloud, running next to your local ComfyUI.

**This is a pre-release.** Expect changes between versions.

## Install

Install it into the same Python environment as ComfyUI:

```
pip install --pre comfy-agent
```

Then start ComfyUI with `--enable-agent`. ComfyUI finds the agent through this package's `comfyui.agent` entry point and serves it on its own address under `/api/agent`.

Wheels are published for macOS 12+ (Apple silicon and Intel), Linux (x86_64 and arm64) and Windows (x86_64). Each wheel bundles the agent executable and the Node.js runtime it uses.

## Optional: comfy-agent-go

[comfy-agent-go](https://pypi.org/project/comfy-agent-go/) carries the agent executable as its own package. Install it with the `go-nonfree` extra, which pins it to this package's exact version:

```
pip install --pre "comfy-agent[go-nonfree]"
```

When it is installed and matches this package, comfy-agent starts it instead of its bundled copy. Set `COMFY_AGENT_BACKEND=bundled` to always use the bundled one.
