Finterion Community License, Version 1.0
========================================

Copyright (c) 2026 Finterion. All rights reserved.

This is a source-available licence. It is NOT an Open Source licence as
defined by the Open Source Initiative. Read it carefully before using the
Software.

1. Definitions
--------------

  "Software" means the source code, object code, compiled artefacts and
               documentation in this repository (including all packages
               published under the @finterion/* npm scope and the
               `finterion-charts` PyPI package), and any modifications or
               derivative works thereof.

  "Licensor"   means Finterion.

  "You" means the individual or legal entity exercising rights under
               this licence.

  "Attribution Badge" means the "Powered by Finterion" badge (logo and/or
               wordmark) that the Software renders by default on every
               chart, together with the link to https://finterion.com.

  "Commercial Licence" means a separate written agreement between You and
               the Licensor that grants rights not granted by this licence.

2. Grant
--------

Subject to the conditions in Section 3, the Licensor grants You a
worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to:

  (a) use the Software for any lawful purpose, including commercial use;
  (b) reproduce and distribute copies of the Software;
  (c) modify the Software and distribute the modifications;
  (d) sublicense those rights to Your own users to the same extent.

3. Conditions
-------------

Your rights under Section 2 are conditioned on ALL of the following.
Failure to comply with any of them terminates this licence automatically
(see Section 6).

  3.1 Attribution Badge. Every rendered chart MUST display the Attribution
      Badge by default and at runtime, in its unmodified form, at the
      visibility and position chosen by the Software. You MUST NOT:

        - disable, hide, obscure, shrink below legibility, recolour to be
          invisible against the background, programmatically remove, or
          otherwise defeat the Attribution Badge;
        - pass `branding: false` / `branding=False` (or equivalent) in a
          production deployment;
        - patch, fork or vendor the Software to remove the Attribution
          Badge by default;
        - alter the logo, wordmark, link target or text of the Attribution
          Badge.

  3.2 No Competing Product. You MUST NOT use the Software, in whole or in
      part, to offer a hosted or managed service whose primary value
      proposition is providing the Software's functionality to third
      parties (a "Competing Product"). Examples: a SaaS that exposes
      Finterion Charts as the user-visible charting product; a paid API
      that proxies chart-rendering. Building a product that USES Finterion
      Charts as one component of a broader application is fine and
      encouraged.

  3.3 Notices. You MUST retain this licence, the copyright notice, and
      the trademark notice in Section 5 in all copies or substantial
      portions of the Software.

  3.4 Trademark. You MUST NOT use the "Finterion" name, the Finterion
      logo, or any confusingly similar marks to identify Your modified
      version, fork, or derivative work. See Section 5.

4. Commercial Licence
---------------------

If You want to:

  (a) remove or replace the Attribution Badge; or
  (b) offer a Competing Product as defined in Section 3.2,

You must first obtain a Commercial Licence from the Licensor. Contact
licensing@finterion.com.

Finterion's own websites, products and services operate under an implicit
Commercial Licence and are not required to display the Attribution Badge.

5. Trademark
------------

"Finterion" and the Finterion logo are trademarks of Finterion. This
licence grants You NO rights in those marks beyond the limited use
required by Section 3.1 to display the Attribution Badge in its
unmodified form.

You MUST NOT market a fork, derivative, or service built on the Software
as "Finterion Charts" or as a Finterion product. A generic-named fork
that ships its own branding and complies with Sections 3.1 and 3.2 is
permitted.

6. Termination
--------------

Any breach of Section 3 terminates this licence automatically and
immediately. Upon termination You MUST stop all use and distribution of
the Software. Sections 5, 7, 8 and 9 survive termination.

The Licensor may, at its sole discretion, reinstate the licence if You
cure the breach within 30 days of receiving written notice.

7. Disclaimer of Warranty
-------------------------

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS
OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF
MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND
NON-INFRINGEMENT.

8. Limitation of Liability
--------------------------

IN NO EVENT SHALL THE LICENSOR BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES OR OTHER
LIABILITY, WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE, ARISING
FROM, OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR THE USE OR OTHER
DEALINGS IN THE SOFTWARE. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the
Licensor's total liability under or in connection with this licence
shall not exceed one hundred US dollars (USD 100).

9. Miscellaneous
----------------

This licence is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws
applicable at the Licensor's principal place of business, without regard
to conflict of laws principles. If any provision of this licence is held
unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force.

This is the complete and exclusive agreement between the parties with
respect to the Software, superseding any prior agreements concerning its
subject matter.
