Storage size calculator

What size storage unit do you need?

Enter the measurements of your boxes and furniture to add up their volume. Use the total to help compare storage units, allowing for stacking, furniture layout and space to reach your things.

Your inventory stays in this tab. No accounts, tracking or inventory uploads. Download a CSV before closing the page.

Add to your inventory

Use one row per labeled box. A quantity above one is an aggregate item group, not a box label.

Match this ID to your label.
Outer dimensions, in centimetres

The prefilled 60 × 40 × 40 cm box is an example. Measure yours.

The example is fictional. Opening a CSV replaces the current list.

Your packed volume

0.000m³

0 items · 0 inventory rows

This is the sum of each item’s outer cuboid volume. A storage space also needs room for stacking, access and gaps. This tool does not predict unit fit or rent.

How the calculation works

Length × width × height × quantity ÷ 1,000,000 gives cubic metres when dimensions are in centimetres. One 60 × 40 × 40 cm box is 0.096 m³. Four are 0.384 m³.

Measure outer dimensions after packing. Irregular objects use the smallest rectangular envelope you can measure. Ask your mover or storage provider about doorways, stacking, access and handling requirements.

Open a Moving Kit CSV or the Wadaya planner’s box-inventory CSV. Each planner row is one box; fill in its dimensions first. Planner notes and decisions remain in your original file, and the calculator counts every imported row. Imported totals are recalculated.

CSV exports use the same schema as the Python library. Text beginning with a spreadsheet formula marker receives an apostrophe.
