# NIS2 Incident Runbook Lint (Article 23)

> Runs the same checker as our npm package on a Node.js runtime that pip installs for you (`nodejs-wheel-binaries`) - no system Node.js needed. Your files are checked locally.

![Incident Response Runbook Lint - NIS2 24h/72h/1-month (Article 23) — finds the line](https://getreadystack.com/img/promo/nis2-incident-runbook-lint_demo.gif)

Reads your incident-response runbook and says which of the three Article 23 clocks it gets wrong

## Install

```
nis2-incident-runbook-lint file
```

Node 18+. The same 16 rules as the VS Code extension, from a terminal or CI.

## Free

- Check the runbook open in the editor, or pasted into the web page, against all 16 rules and get every finding with its line number
- `--rules` lists every rule

## With a licence ($29 once)

- Sweep every runbook in the workspace at once and write one dated audit report file that lists each file, each finding and the rule it failed

```
nis2-incident-runbook-lint --dir ./templates --report html --out report.html
```

The average day rate for a NIS2 consultant is EUR 1,300 (BDU consulting market survey, reported 2026)

## Use from an AI agent (MCP)

Claude Code · Cursor · Windsurf · any MCP client - add to your MCP config:

```json
{ "mcpServers": { "nis2-incident-runbook-lint": { "command": "nis2-incident-runbook-lint", "args": ["--mcp"] } } }
```

Tools: `check_text` and `check_file` (free) · `check_dir` (licence). The agent gets every finding with the line number.

## Use in CI

```yaml
- name: NIS2 Incident Runbook Lint (Article 23)
  run: pip install rulestamp-nis2-incident-runbook-lint && nis2-incident-runbook-lint --dir . --ci
```

The folder sweep, reports and CI mode need one licence — one payment, no subscription. Set `READYSTACK_LICENSE=<key>` or run `--license <key>` once.
