Thermistor ageing in field arrays (an invented work for the end-to-end example).

We followed 60 uncalibrated thermistors deployed outdoors for two years. Their readings drifted
steadily away from a reference thermometer. Over a month, drifts between 0.3 K and 1 K were typical
of uncalibrated thermistors, and the drift rate did not depend on the season. Calibrated units
drifted by less than 0.05 K over the same period.
