# englyph

**en-** (to put within) + **glyph** (a carved mark): *to carve within.*

Englyph is an evolving-memory engine for AI agents — memory is authored at
write time as typed, dated, dependency-linked records, and the current state
is derived at read time. The agent answers from what's true *now*, not just
what's similar.

Successor to the project previously known as engram.

**This is a name-reservation release.** The full open release — engine, MEME
benchmark reproduction kit, and documentation — is forthcoming.

Release codenames walk the sediment column: **v1.0 "Varve"** — a varve is one
annual layer of glacial-lake sediment; geologists count them to read time.
