Every extra top-level or node field is optional metadata, preserved as JSON text. No source, timestamp, version or state vocabulary is required.
Native JSON.parse uses the last duplicate key at every level. Producers must emit unique keys. Replacement drops omitted observations. An empty nodes object is valid.
Browser JSON parsing and text-display limits apply. An input that cannot be displayed is rejected before replacing the current snapshot.
Box leaf counts describe supplied observations, not completion or an inferred box state. Nested box scopes overlap and must not be summed.

View’s Edge style offers Orthogonal, ELK routes, and Bezier. Single Bezier connections are direct lines; parallel connections curve apart. Switching styles keeps nodes in place.
ELK routes follow the layout’s bend points. Moving, hiding, revealing, or folding nodes temporarily uses Orthogonal paths; Arrange refreshes the routes. The bottom status shows routed and fallback counts, or a refresh action when routes expire. Unsupported paths also use Orthogonal. Locks stay straight.
A failed layout releases the controls and shows an Arrange retry action. Its error is available on the status message.
