NewsNerd is a local development sample that summarizes news snippets with citations. Offline Demo returns deterministic source excerpts, not live news or AI-written reporting. Ask "What is NewsNerd?" to test the guide.
Live GNews uses a private X-Api-Key header, up to six English-language news articles sorted by publication time. The Free plan allows 100 requests/day and ten articles/request with a twelve-hour delay. It is for development/testing; do not deploy this free-plan sample as a public service.
NewsAPI is an alternative: Developer is for local development/testing, with 100 requests/day and a twenty-four-hour article delay. Both APIs provide snippets rather than guaranteed complete reporting. Date and publisher are included in each evidence passage. Open the cited original article for context.
Live answers use a local Ollama qwen2.5:3b model. It must be installed and running separately. No hosted paid model is selected. Local models can be wrong; citations do not independently verify a publisher's claim. Never describe delayed results as breaking news.
