# GLOP

GLOP - Generalized Lpeg and OMeta-inspired Parsing and printing framework.

**This package is not really intended for use by others**.

GLOP is a parser generator; it takes a (parsing expression) grammar
and generate a parser in Python that will recognize the grammar.

GLOP was inspired by by Lua's [LPEG](http://www.inf.puc-rio.br/~roberto/lpeg)
module and Alessandro Warth's [OMeta](http://github.com/alexwarth/ometa-js/)
and [Ohm](https://ohmlang.github.io/) projects.

This version of the parser generator is now mostly dead and not really
useful for anyone. It's still published as it is used to generate the
parser for my [JSON5](https://github.com/dpranke/pyjson5) package.

I am working on much more powerful versions of this parser in other
projects that aren't quite ready for release; when they are, this
page will be updated to point to them.
