# devplane

**This npm package is a name reservation. It installs nothing.**

[Devplane](https://github.com/hupe1980/devplane) is the local-first control plane for AI coding
agents: one binary that watches every Claude Code session already running on your machine, gates
what any of them may do against rules your repository commits, and makes *done* mean your project's
checks passed.

It is written in Rust and is published on [crates.io](https://crates.io/crates/devplane). This
package holds the name here so that `npx devplane` can become the installer later, and so that
nobody else publishes something called `devplane` in the meantime.

## Install Devplane

```sh
cargo install devplane          # needs Rust 1.90+
```

Prebuilt binaries for macOS, Linux and Windows, and the shell installer:

## When this package becomes real

`npx devplane` is a planned entry point: a thin wrapper that fetches the released binary for your
platform and runs it. Until that ships, running this package prints these instructions and exits
non-zero — because a reserved name that exits `0` reads as a success it did not earn.

## Licence

MIT OR Apache-2.0, the same as the project.
