# axross

> A multi-protocol file manager (SFTP, SMB, S3, WebDAV, FTP, cloud drives, databases, devices and more) with a headless MCP server and a Python scripting API (`axross.*`), so an LLM agent can browse, transfer, inspect and change files, and run commands on remote hosts, within limits the operator sets with start flags.

## Start here

- [LLM guide](docs/LLM_GUIDE.md): how to drive axross correctly - flags, first calls, paths and backends, errors, long jobs, remote commands, scripts, do and don't, the full tool catalog and the scripting catalog.
- [Tool manifest](docs/mcp-tools.json): every MCP tool with its JSON schema, required flags, transports and timeout, as `axross --mcp-list-tools` prints it.
- [Scripting API manifest](docs/scripting-api.json): the `axross.*` scripting API as JSON, as `axross.api_schema()` and the MCP tool `script_api_schema` return it - rules, errors, every function with parameters, whole docstring, examples, `raises`, `mutates` and `prompts`, the session methods every backend has, and the types they return.
