Bootstrap (PR #1) — scaffold complete, PR blocked on external CI breakage

What was done

Executed LOOP_CONTRACT §4 bootstrap on branch feat/odb-ext/bootstrap (off origin/main 8b1129c, commit a61cc58). Cloned the crypto bar_close #509 Layer-1 correctness-harness ENGINEERING, not the crypto.

§4.1 Substrate map — read all 14 candidate cards (parallel structured-output workflow). Verdict: 11 implementable as trailing-window-over-completed-bars kernels; 3 substrate-blocked (need per-quote intra-bar data forex_bars does not persist).
§4.2 Fixture — minted a REAL, sha-pinned, multi-symbol, de-gapped fixture: forex_orthogonal_extension_real_bars-sample-v1.csv (sha c106c51e…), {EURUSD,XAUUSD}×{5,25}×3000 = 12 000 bars, Friday-20:00 UTC anchor so every cell spans a weekend/Ouroboros boundary. Regen script --check asserts the sha; committed via a scoped *-sample-* gitignore exception. NOT synthetic.
§4.3 SOTA harness — fail-closed sha-recompute loader (count + 4-cell validated), tiered EXACT-vs-ε tolerance helpers, causal de-gap window-reset guard, proptest scaffold.
§4.4 Cohort anchor — NEW ordered-names list JSON (sha 9dd0e82c…) + sidecar + LOCKED-const anchor-pin + Rust↔JSON drift test + 14-slot None-stub registry module (orthogonal_extension_cohort.rs). DISTINCT from the blocklisted canonical_forty anchor.

Validation (this iteration)

8 / 8 PASS SOTA-harness tests (sha-pinned loader, 4 cells × 3000, non-vacuous real-data OHLC/spread/timing invariants, all-cell weekend coverage, tiered-tolerance self-test, 3 proptests).
3 / 3 PASS cohort anchor-pin tests (JSON sha recompute + sidecar + Rust↔JSON name/count drift gate).
clippy --lib -D warnings CLEAN · test_schema_contract unaffected (BarRow / schema.sql untouched by design).
Per-feature parity numbers (oracle count / max-abs-dev / tolerance): N/A this iteration — kernels land in per-feature PRs §5.

Key decisions

Anchor-respecting design: bootstrap touches ZERO anchor-protected files (no schema.sql, no fxview-sidecar/src/*). The "14 stub slots returning None" live in a NEW registry module, NOT as dead BarRow fields — so test_schema_contract stays green and no dead producer field is introduced. Per-feature PRs add the BarRow column + operator-gated schema DDL in lockstep (§5.7). This reconciles §4.4 ↔ §5.7 ↔ the anchor policy ↔ clippy -D warnings.
Substrate verdict drives scope: the 3 blocked features are flagged for operator decision (intra-bar sidecar feature vs drop); their per-feature PRs are blocked, out of loop scope.
Card errata caught: sevcik_fd FOSS ref = neurokit2 (not antropy); anderson uses inter-bar close logret.

⛔ Blocker (why the PR is not opened)

mise run check:all-gates is RED on Linux (bigblack): cargo test -p fxview-core fails with 40 errors across 6 pre-existing #[cfg(target_os="linux")] signal_ring/shm test modules (a dropped use import + a missing constructor arg from the Wave-A/275/396 test-modularization refactors). Invisible on the macOS dev/CI platform; none are in this campaign. Per the contract — "if a gate cannot pass after honest effort, STOP and write a blocker note — never guess, weaken a test, or touch the blocklist" — the loop STOPPED rather than bypass the gate or patch in-flight code it does not own. Minimal fix + full detail in the repo's BOOTSTRAP_STATUS.md.

Challenge-and-Held

§4.6 sequences the Attacker/Defender adversarial review immediately before opening the PR. Since the PR is not opening (external blocker), the formal Challenge-and-Held is deferred to PR-open. The substrate verdict was independently cross-checked against the per-card structured analyses + the live forex_bars column inventory.

Next step (when unblocked)

Fix the signal_ring Linux test build (owner/operator) → mise run rust:check && mise run check:all-gates green → run Challenge-and-Held → open ONE bootstrap PR (no merge). Then per-feature PRs proceed in cohort order, skipping the 3 substrate-blocked features pending the operator's decision.
