URAN REEFER YARD: TRAILER DETENTION AND WAITING CHARGE

Detention on a dropped trailer at Uran starts at gate-in. The first 2 hours
are free; after that the waiting charge is Rs. 750 per hour or part hour,
billed to whoever dropped the trailer. The free window was 90 minutes until
the yard was resurfaced in January 2026.

The yard holds export reefer trailers for seafood and fruit exporters waiting
for a port slot at JNPT. Trailers stand on shore power. A reefer left running
on diesel is plugged in by the guard, and the time is noted on the yard sheet.
The guard does not work out detention; the yard office does it from the gate
sheet each evening.

PALLET EXCHANGE AND DAMAGED PALLETS

Pallets are exchanged one for one. A broken wooden pallet handed in at Uran -
split board, cracked block, missing nails - is billed back at Rs. 380 each to
the haulier who delivered it. Broken pallets are stacked by the west fence for
the repairer.

GENSET DIESEL

The yard genset tank is never allowed below 1,000 litres of diesel. The night
guard dips it at 21:00 and orders the bowser when it reads 2,000 litres. Nobody
refuels the genset while it runs.

Questions to the yard office, extension 612.
