Development

This section is for contributors and release maintainers. Normal users should follow Installation and Usage instead.

Development checkout

With the 1.0.x ecosystem repositories side by side:

yarn setup
yarn bfc

yarn setup installs sibling checkouts when present and installs this plugin editable. yarn bfc runs version/workspace checks, Ruff, tests, smoke tests, documentation checks/build, package build and wheel-layout validation.

Restart Thonny after installing/updating the editable plugin.

Documentation

Normal docs:sync is non-destructive: existing Markdown and navigation remain human-editable. Use docs:regen --force only when deliberately regenerating language pages/navigation.

Renderer overrides

The embedded Python renderers are used in normal operation. Developers may override executables for debugging/integration work:

PSEUDOCODE_I18N_MERMAID_EXECUTABLE=/path/to/mmdc thonny
PSEUDOCODE_I18N_GRAPHVIZ_EXECUTABLE=/path/to/neato thonny
