annotate3d_bbox — 3D annotate3d op

• Data kinds: image2d → image2d

• Call: import fullseye as fs; fs.ledger.annotate3d_bbox(img, bounds, pose, K, depth=None, color='emphasis', width=1.5, occlusion_tol=0.01, scheme='okabe_ito') (to call the implementation directly, import annotate3d; annotate3d.annotate3d_bbox(img, bounds, pose, K, depth=None, color='emphasis', width=1.5, occlusion_tol=0.01, scheme='okabe_ito'); from the registry, ops3d.get("annotate3d_bbox"))

Usage

Returns an image (image2d): the 12 edges of the axis-aligned 3-D box ((xmin, ymin, zmin),(xmax, ymax, zmax)), projected.

If depth is given, edges whose both ends are hidden are drawn dashed.

Raises

ValueError

bad shape of bounds / min > max, a corner behind the camera.

Procedure: from bounds build the 8 corners (x_i, y_j, z_k) (i, j, k ∈ {min, max}), project them together (same convention as annotate3d_project). Draw the 12 edges with annotate._aa_polyline. If both ends of an edge are hidden it is dashed; if only one end is, it is solid.

Arguments:

• bounds: (2, 3) of ((xmin, ymin, zmin), (xmax, ymax, zmax)) (object coordinates, finite, max >= min on each axis; a collapsed box with max == min is allowed). For a point cloud points.min(0) / points.max(0); for a mesh, build it from V.

• width: line width [px], a real number >= 0.5. color: a role name or RGB.

• depth: forward-distance image (the depth of render3d.render_mesh). occlusion_tol: [0, 1).

Return value: a new drawn image (float64 [0, 1]; the input is not modified).

Error conditions: bounds is not (2, 3), is non-finite, or has an axis with max < min / any of the 8 corners has z <= 1e-9 (on the camera plane or behind; if the box encloses the viewpoint it cannot be drawn) / invalid pose, K or depth. A corner falling outside the image is not an error (the lines are drawn beyond the frame and visibly cut off).

Note: axis-aligned boxes (aligned with the object-coordinate axes) only. To draw a rotated box (the corners of smallest_box3), project the 8 corners yourself (annotate3d_project) and connect them with 2-D annotate line drawing.
