geometry op• Data kinds: primitive → primitive
• Call: import fullseye as fs; fs.ledger.intersect_planes(p1, n1, p2, n2) (to call the implementation directly, import match3d; match3d.intersect_planes(p1, n1, p2, n2); from the registry, ops3d.get("intersect_planes"))
Plane ∩ plane → a line (a point on it and a direction). None when they are parallel.
Normalises the direction d = n̂1 × n̂2 and solves the 3×3 system n̂1·p = n̂1·p1, n̂2·p = n̂2·p2, d·p = 0 for a point p on the line (since d·p = 0, it is the point closest to the origin). Returns (p(3,), d(3,)). If |n1 × n2| < 1e-9 (parallel or the same plane) it returns None. Arguments are numeric 3-vectors (it uses np.cross and a 3×3 solve, so it is 3-D only; passing 2-D fails while building the array). Mixed dimensions raise ValueError.
Uses: the ridge of 2 planes fitted with fit_plane_3d, extracting box edges → with distance_point_line, the distance from the edge.
