morphology op• Data kinds: voxel → voxel
• Call: import fullseye as fs; fs.ledger.morph_close3d(vol, r=1, device='cpu', se='cube') (to call the implementation directly, import match3d; match3d.morph_close3d(vol, r=1, device='cpu', se='cube'); from the registry, ops3d.get("morph_close3d"))
• GPU: this op has a GPU path (device="cuda")
3-D closing = dilation → erosion. Fills the dark structures (gaps and cavities) smaller than the structuring element.
morph_erode3d(morph_dilate3d(vol, r, ...), r, ...). The output is at least the input (close >= vol):
dark holes, cracks and surface gaps smaller than the SE (a cube of side length 2r+1 or a ball of radius r) are filled with the surrounding brightness, while large dark regions remain (idempotent). Outside the border is treated as −∞ for dilation and +∞ for erosion, so the edges are not filled spuriously. se is "cube"/"ball" (anything else: ValueError), device is effective only for cube+torch. Returns (D,H,W) float32 numpy.
Use: close − vol is morph_blackhat3d (extracting small dark structures). Filling holes in the surface of point-cloud splats, filling holes in occupancy before signed_distance_field.
