morph_gradient3d — 3D morphology op

• Data kinds: voxel → voxel

• Call: import fullseye as fs; fs.ledger.morph_gradient3d(vol, r=1, device='cpu', se='cube') (to call the implementation directly, import match3d; match3d.morph_gradient3d(vol, r=1, device='cpu', se='cube'); from the registry, ops3d.get("morph_gradient3d"))

• GPU: this op has a GPU path (device="cuda")

Usage

3-D morphological gradient = dilation − erosion. Extracts boundaries and surfaces (an edge source in place of Sobel).

Local max − local min with the same SE (a cube of side length 2r+1 or a ball of radius r). The value is always 0 or more, 0 in uniform regions, and the step size at bright/dark boundaries (the larger r, the thicker the boundary; r=1 gives 2 voxel width). There is no direction information (use sobel3d if you need direction). Unlike sobel3d no gain correction is needed, and on a 2-valued volume the shell "boundary voxel = 1" comes out as is. se is "cube"/"ball" (anything else:

ValueError), device is effective only for cube+torch. Returns (D,H,W) float32 numpy.

Use: an edge source for match_chamfer_3d; an alternative surface extraction before passing to hough_plane_3d.
