rle_region op• Data kinds: rle_region → primitive
• Call: import fullseye as fs; fs.ledger.vol_rle_bbox(region) (to call the implementation directly, import volregion; volregion.vol_rle_bbox(region); from the registry, ops3d.get("vol_rle_bbox"))
Tight bounding box (z0, y0, x0, z1, y1, x1) (exclusive upper bounds), from the runs.
No decode is needed; measured ~1000x faster than scanning the dense mask. Matches volops.vol_bounding_box of the decoded mask exactly. An empty region raises ValueError (same fail-closed rule).
Computation: recovers z = rows // H and y = rows % H, and returns (z.min, y.min, starts.min, z.max+1, y.max+1, ends.max). A 6-element int tuple, with axis order (z, y, x) = (depth, row, col). The upper bounds are exclusive, so vol[z0:z1, y0:y1, x0:x1] is directly the smallest enclosing sub-volume. Coordinates are voxel indices (spacing is not applied).
Validation: in addition to the VolRLE consistency check (_require_rle), a region with not even 1 run raises ValueError as "the box cannot be defined". There is no margin argument (if you need a margin, use vol_bounding_box after decoding).
Where to use it: take the box of each component of vol_rle_components and decide an ROI crop equivalent to vol_crop_domain without building a dense array.
