dem_fill_sinks — DEM hydrology op

• Data kinds: depth → depth

• Call: import fullseye as fs; fs.ledger.dem_fill_sinks(dem, epsilon=0.0, nodata='error') (to call the implementation directly, import demops; demops.dem_fill_sinks(dem, epsilon=0.0, nodata='error'); from the registry, opsdem.get("dem_fill_sinks"))

Usage

DEM with its depressions filled. The priority-flood of Barnes, Lehman & Mulla (2014).

Giving epsilon a tiny value (e.g. 1e-6) adds a slight slope to the filled flats (without it, flow direction is undefined on flats and the accumulation vanishes midway).

nodata is one of NODATA_POLICIES. "outlet" treats missing cells, like the outer border, as seeds (water flowing into a water body leaves the system there). "barrier" excludes missing cells from filling and returns their values as nan.

The output is at least the input (filled >= dem, excluding missing cells).
