• Call: import fullseye as fs; fs.ledger.fit_bounce(v_in, omega_in, v_out, omega_out, normal, bp: 'dict') -> 'dict' (to call the implementation directly, import ballistics; ballistics.fit_bounce(v_in, omega_in, v_out, omega_out, normal, bp: 'dict') -> 'dict'; from the registry, opsdrive.get("fit_bounce"))
Recovers (e, μ) in closed form from (v, ω) before and after a bounce (identification). e = −v_n'/v_n. μ is the ratio of the magnitude of the tangential impulse J_t = m(v_t' − v_t) to J_n = m(v_n' − v_n) — an equality in the regime that keeps sliding, a lower bound (μ ≥ |J_t|/J_n) in the regime that switches to rolling partway (grip). Which one applies is told by whether the slip velocity of the contact point after the bounce is 0 (grip). Return value {"e", "mu", "mu_is_lower_bound", "regime", "J_n", "J_t"}.
• Sample-data catalog (download URLs / licences) — 2-D uses skimage.data (BSD/public domain) plus synthetic images; 3-D lists download URLs for real data sources (Stanford, PDS, …).
• Operator provenance and references — the sources of the research/methods this op family came from.
• The canonical algorithm (author, year) and its uses are named in the family usage guide above.
