flight_fit — DRIVE ball op

• Data kinds: signal × points × table → table

• Call: import fullseye as fs; fs.ledger.flight_fit(t, p, omega, bp: 'dict', *, iters: 'int' = 12, dt: 'float' = 0.001) -> 'dict' (to call the implementation directly, import ballistics; ballistics.flight_fit(t, p, omega, bp: 'dict', *, iters: 'int' = 12, dt: 'float' = 0.001) -> 'dict'; from the registry, opsdrive.get("flight_fit"))

Usage

Fits the equations of motion with drag + Magnus (ω known) to observations (t_i, p_i) (an interval without bounces) with the 6 parameters of the initial state (p₀, v₀) by Gauss–Newton (finite-difference Jacobian). A parabola fit absorbs drag and Magnus into g and v₀, so its prediction bends — this one corresponds to the "tracking with an aerodynamic model" of prior work. Return value {"p0", "v0", "rms", "iters", "t0"} (p₀ and v₀ are the state at t = t[0]). Given a ground-truth trajectory it recovers it to 1e-9 (gate).
