polish op• Data kinds: scalar × scalar × scalar × scalar → table
• Call: import fullseye as fs; fs.ledger.wipe_band_width(force: 'float', radius: 'float', k_p: 'float', coat: 'float', kind: 'str' = 'flat', estar=None) -> 'dict' (to call the implementation directly, import polish; polish.wipe_band_width(force: 'float', radius: 'float', k_p: 'float', coat: 'float', kind: 'str' = 'flat', estar=None) -> 'dict'; from the registry, opsdrive.get("wipe_band_width"))
Width of the band where a film of thickness coat disappears when wiped by one straight stroke of a non-spinning tool (closed form). Returns width (0 means it cannot be wiped), half_width, force_min (force at which the band starts to form), centre_depth (removal depth at the center), a (contact radius). Flat: D = 2 a k_p p, half width a √(1 − (h0/D)²), F_min = π a h0/(2 k_p). Hertz: D = k_p E* a²/R, half width √(a² − h0 R/(k_p E*)), F_min = (4E*/3R)(h0 R/(k_p E*))^{3/2}. Independent of speed (when not spinning). Raises ValueError: numeric checks.
• Sample-data catalog (download URLs / licences) — 2-D uses skimage.data (BSD/public domain) plus synthetic images; 3-D lists download URLs for real data sources (Stanford, PDS, …).
• Operator provenance and references — the sources of the research/methods this op family came from.
• The canonical algorithm (author, year) and its uses are named in the family usage guide above.
