edges op• Data kinds: color → image
• Call: fullseye.apply(img, "edges_color", a=0.5, b=0.5) (the 2-D model is one image plus two scalar knobs a,b∈[0,1])
• HALCON equivalent: edges_color (the HALCON reference is a useful guide to its meaning and parameters)

*The figure is the actual output on a synthetic 128×128 input. Left: input, right: output. Point clouds are drawn as a top-down scatter (brightness = z), 1-D series as a line plot, volumes as the maximum-intensity projection along z, videos as the middle frame, complex images as magnitude; return values that are not pictures are shown as the values themselves.*
*Knob a does not change the output (measured: identical at 0.1 / 0.5 / 0.9).*
*Knob b does not change the output (measured: identical at 0.1 / 0.5 / 0.9).*

Detects color edge strength. Claimed to correspond to HALCON's edges_color (extracts color edges with a Canny/Deriche/Shen filter), but the implementation is fixed to Di Zenzo's multichannel gradient method rather than being filter-selectable.
The Sobel gradient (gx, gy) is applied to each channel, the largest eigenvalue of the gradient tensor [[gxx, gxy], [gxy, gyy]] (gxx=Σgx², gyy=Σgy², gxy=Σgx·gy) is computed per pixel, and its square root, normalised by the maximum, is the edge strength. a, b are unused (the filter type and threshold choices available on the HALCON side cannot be selected).
