angles_to_normals — REPRCONV direction op

• Data kinds: pairs → normals

• Call: import fullseye as fs; fs.ledger.angles_to_normals(pairs) (to call the implementation directly, import reprconv; reprconv.angles_to_normals(pairs); from the registry, opsreprconv.get("angles_to_normals"))

Usage

Azimuth/elevation pairs (N,2) [deg] → unit normals (N,3). The exit from pairs.

The exact inverse of normals_to_angles (in the sense of normalising to unit length). Elevations outside [-90, 90] are rejected -- an elevation of 100 degrees folds into "80 degrees on the opposite side" and is plausibly wrong, so it is not silently accepted.

Args:

pairs: (N, 2) [azimuth deg, elevation deg], or a tuple of 2 equal-length 1-D arrays.

Returns:

(N, 3) float64, unit length per row.

Raises:

ValueError: invalid shape / non-finite / elevation outside [-90, 90].
