vx_nonmax_suppression — VX suppress op

• Data kinds: image2d → image2d

• Call: import fullseye as fs; fs.ledger.vx_nonmax_suppression(image, *, window, mask=None) (to call the implementation directly, import vxcore; vxcore.vx_nonmax_suppression(image, *, window, mask=None); from the registry, opsvx.get("vx_nonmax_suppression"))

Usage

Non-maximum suppression (Section 3.39). A pixel (x, y) survives only if, within the window, it is ≥ its preceding neighbors (the row above and the left in the same row) and > its following neighbors (REQ-0337). This asymmetry is why exactly 1 pixel survives on a flat peak. Nonzero pixels of *mask* are not compared and are kept as is (nor are they used in comparisons for other pixels, REQ-0336). Suppressed pixels become 0 for U8 and INT16_MIN for S16 (REQ-0335). Neighbors that fall outside the window are not compared.

*window* (required): side length of an odd window (3, 5, …).

Raises ValueError: not a 2-D U8/S16 / window is not an odd number of 3 or more / mask shape differs.

• Sample-data catalog (download URLs / licences) — 2-D uses skimage.data (BSD/public domain) plus synthetic images; 3-D lists download URLs for real data sources (Stanford, PDS, …).

• The canonical algorithm (author, year) and its uses are named in the family usage guide above.
