# algopython

Python library for controlling an AlgoBrix robot over USB: motors, sensors,
LEDs, sounds, and the included camera/AI features.

## Install

VS Code is an editor, so users need both **VS Code** and a supported **Python
3.8–3.12** interpreter. In VS Code, install the official Python extension,
open a terminal, then run:

```bash
python -m pip install --upgrade pip
python -m pip install algopython
```

Connect the robot by USB and use it in a Python file:

```python
from algopython import *
if algopython_init():
    light12(2, 10, "green")
    move("A", 1, 5, "CW")
    algopython_exit()
```

On Windows, if the USB serial port is not detected automatically, pass its COM
port explicitly: `algopython_init("COM3")`.

The `pytesseract` feature additionally requires the separate Tesseract OCR
application to be installed and available on the system PATH.
