convex_mirror_fov — DRIVE decide op

• Data kinds: none → table (an op determined by its arguments alone — it takes no image or data input)

• Call: import fullseye as fs; fs.ledger.convex_mirror_fov(radius, aperture, eye_distance) -> 'Dict[str, float]' (to call the implementation directly, import drivedecide; drivedecide.convex_mirror_fov(radius, aperture, eye_distance) -> 'Dict[str, float]'; from the registry, opsdrive.get("convex_mirror_fov"))

Usage

Field of view of a convex mirror (spherical, radius radius, aperture diameter aperture) seen by an eye on the axis at eye_distance (from the vertex).

Exact (cross-section containing the axis): h = a/2, α = asin(h/R), s = R − sqrt(R² − h²), β = atan(h/(D + s)), full field-of-view angle = 2(β + 2α). radius = inf is a flat mirror, 2 atan(h/D).

Paraxial: ≈ a (1/D + 2/R) (error of order h³. As a guide, the relative error is within a few % for h/R ≲ 0.2 and h/D ≲ 0.2).

Return value: fov_rad / fov_deg (exact), fov_paraxial_rad, flat_fov_rad (flat mirror of the same aperture), widening (= fov / flat_fov, how many times wider the convex mirror shows), edge_tilt_rad = α, eye_angle_rad = β. h ≥ R (aperture larger than a hemisphere) raises ValueError.
