occlusion_safe_speed — DRIVE traffic op

• Data kinds: any → any

• Call: import fullseye as fs; fs.ledger.occlusion_safe_speed(d, *, reaction: 'float', brake: 'float') (to call the implementation directly, import drivetraffic; drivetraffic.occlusion_safe_speed(d, *, reaction: 'float', brake: 'float'); from the registry, opsdrive.get("occlusion_safe_speed"))

Usage

Maximum speed at which the car can stop within distance d from the moment of becoming visible: v = b(−ρ + sqrt(ρ² + 2d/b)).

The positive root, solved for v, of v ρ + v²/(2b) = d (free running + braking; the same formula as rsssafety.rss_stopping_distance(v, ρ, accel=0, brake=b)). To avoid cancellation it is computed as v = 2d / (ρ + sqrt(ρ² + 2d/b)) (sqrt(2 b d) for ρ = 0). d may be an array. If d ≤ 0, then 0 (by the time it is visible it is already too late).

Gate: rss_stopping_distance(v, ρ, 0, b) == d (second implementation, rtol 1e-12).

Raises ValueError: reaction < 0, brake ≤ 0, d non-finite (inf is allowed and returns inf).

Empty input (d with 0 elements) raises ValueError.
