revolution_volume_side — DRIVE scoop op

• Data kinds: image2d × scalar → table

• Call: import fullseye as fs; fs.ledger.revolution_volume_side(side, pitch: 'float', *, axis_col: 'float | None' = None, threshold: 'float' = 0.5) -> 'dict' (to call the implementation directly, import scoop; scoop.revolution_volume_side(side, pitch: 'float', *, axis_col: 'float | None' = None, threshold: 'float' = 0.5) -> 'dict'; from the registry, opsdrive.get("revolution_volume_side"))

Usage

Volume from 1 side image assuming axial symmetry — Pappus form V = π Σ |x − x_axis| c(x, z) pitch³ (c = coverage, x = pixel-center column).

Being linear in the coverage, it is not biased even in rows where a flat powder surface crosses mid-row (the sum of discs whose diameter is each row's width, Σ π (w/2)², counts a row with fill fraction f as f² and came out 1.5 % low, measured). Noise is removed first outside and inside the object (_clean_coverage). If the axis axis_col (pixel edges at integers) is not given, the column of the coverage centroid is used. A line is fitted to the per-row centroids and the axis tilt axis_tilt_deg (atan2) is also returned (a tilted bowl gains volume; the judgement is the caller's).

Returns: V [cube of the pitch unit], V_px, V_discs (sum of discs, for comparison), radius_px (per-row half-width), axis_col, axis_tilt_deg, rows_used, height_px. Raises ValueError: not a coverage / no powder visible / touches the left or right edge (cut off).
