• Call: import fullseye as fs; fs.ledger.veiling_luminance(E_glare, theta_deg, *, model: 'str' = 'stiles_holladay', age: 'float' = 40.0, p: 'float' = 0.5) (to call the implementation directly, import driveenv; driveenv.veiling_luminance(E_glare, theta_deg, *, model: 'str' = 'stiles_holladay', age: 'float' = 40.0, p: 'float' = 0.5); from the registry, opsdrive.get("veiling_luminance"))
Veiling luminance L_v [cd/m²] of disability glare (arrays allowed). E_glare = illuminance [lx] of the light source at the eye, θ = angle between light source and line of sight [deg].
model="stiles_holladay": L_v = 10 E / θ² (an empirical formula used for θ of roughly 1° to 30°). model="cie": general formula of CIE 146:2002, L_v/E = 10/θ³ + (5/θ² + 0.1 p/θ)(1 + (age/62.5)⁴) + 0.0025 p (p = eye pigmentation factor, default 0.5). θ ≤ 0 is rejected (the light source itself is an image, not a veil).
