This template replaces the one of the Furo theme that shows the logo and the name of the project at the top of the left sidebar.
It is the same, followed by a badge showing the latest version of PyRat, which links to its history of releases on PyPI.

The badge first shows the version the documentation was built for, which is the latest one as soon as the documentation is rebuilt (at each push).
It then asks PyPI for the latest published version, and shows it instead, so that it stays right between two builds of the documentation.
PyPI is asked directly rather than through an image service such as shields.io, which keeps its images in cache for hours, and so showed an outdated version after each release.
