direction, not dates
Roadmap
Current direction, reviewed against the 0.2.6 source on 2026-09-06. Planned items have no release date until they are scheduled.
Planned
- Native Linux and macOS appsNative desktop UIs and installers for both platforms, including platform integration and an update path. Today Linux and macOS run the local daemon with a browser.
- More capable pluginsExpand the pane types, interface contributions, lifecycle events and permission-scoped host APIs available to plugins. Build on the existing actions, terminal panes, hooks and link handlers.
- More agent CLIsExtend status, transcripts, history and input support to additional coding agents through the harness registry.
- Smaller update downloadsTransfer only what changed between releases. Updates already replace changed files selectively, but still download the full archive.
- Commit from the Git tabExtend the existing diff and worktree tools with staging, commits and general ignore-file editing.
- Deeper analysis across sessionsConnect symbol-level changes with the behavioral record, including cross-session conflicts and callers affected by a changed interface.
- Easier verification setupGuide new repositories through defining and validating their worktree setup and verification commands. The conventions and approved-check landing queue already exist.
- Automatic assistant model selectionRoute simple requests to a smaller model and escalate harder requests while respecting the configured endpoint and budgets. Model selection is currently explicit.
- A shared browser surfaceA browser that the operator and agent can use together, with an explicit navigation and control boundary. Existing local previews remain a separate capability.
Already available
- Windows desktop setupThe Python install includes the window and tray; setup offers shortcuts and startup integration. Install guide
- Agent CLI and MCPAuthenticated agent-mode CLI calls use the same session identity and permissions as MCP. CLI guide
- Crash recoverySessions that lose their processes return as readable, resumable records. This complements live sessions surviving ordinary daemon and app restarts. Sessions
- Universal hooksHarness-neutral rules respond to normalized session events, with bounded annotation, notification and observer actions. Automation
- Plugin managementInstall and approve external-process plugins, use their contributions, and review updates or roll back to a prior version. Plugin guide
Asking for something
Feature requests are GitHub Discussions in the Ideas category, and a thumbs-up on one is a vote. The issue tracker stays for bugs.
Describe the problem, not the fix. What you were trying to do, what you did instead, and what made it hard. A vote says what to look at first and nothing more; nothing is scheduled by being voted for.
