AP CHEST, 5:57 A.M., ___

HISTORY: A ___-year-old man with a trach. Suspect pneumonia.

IMPRESSION: AP chest compared to ___:

Tracheostomy tube in standard placement. Right PIC line ends in the low SVC. There is no pneumothorax. Heart is moderately to severely enlarged and the pulmonary and mediastinal vasculature are engorged. Lung volumes are lower. Pleural effusions have increased, as well as extensive consolidation. It is impossible to tell how much of the pulmonary opacification is due to atelectasis and pulmonary edema and how much might be due to pneumonia.
