PORTABLE CHEST FILM OF ___ AT 854

CLINICAL INDICATION: ___-year-old status post exploratory laparotomy with pulmonary edema.

Comparison is made to the patient's previous study dated ___ at ___.

A portable supine chest film ___ at 9:20 a.m. is submitted.

IMPRESSION:

1. Calcification of the aorta consistent with atherosclerosis.
2. Endotracheal tube continues to have its tip approximately 6 cm above the carina.
3. Small layering effusions.
4. Right internal jugular central line now has its tip in the mid to distal superior vena cava.
5. Interval worsening of mild to moderate pulmonary and interstitial edema.
6. Increasing retrocardiac consolidation which may represent an area of compressive atelectasis, although pneumonia cannot be entirely excluded.
7. Nasogastric tube is seen coursing below the diaphragm with the tips projecting over the stomach.
8. Cardiac and mediastinal contours are likely stable given marked patient rotation to the right on the current examination.
9. Stable cardiac and mediastinal contours.
10. Clinical correlation is advised.
