Terms of Service
Last updated: June 4, 2026
Acceptance
By using FreshFilings (the "Service"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. "We," "us," and "our" refer to FreshFilings.
What the service is
FreshFilings provides access to public U.S. business entity data sourced from official state filing databases, available through a free web lookup, a paid REST API, and a formation leads feed.
Acceptable use
You may use the Service for any lawful purpose. You may not:
- Attempt to scrape, mirror, or bulk-export data beyond what your subscription tier permits.
- Use the API to build a competing data product that resells our data as its primary offering.
- Circumvent rate limits or share API keys with unauthorized parties.
- Use the Service in connection with fraud, spam, or harassment.
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the underlying dataset in bulk without a written agreement.
API access and billing
Paid plans are billed monthly via Stripe. Your plan's call limits reset at the start of each billing cycle. Unused calls do not roll over. We may suspend API access immediately if we detect abuse or non-payment. Refunds are handled case by case — email support@freshfilings.dev.
Data accuracy
Data is sourced from official public records and updated on a regular sync schedule. We make no warranty that the data is complete, current, or error-free. Do not rely on it as the sole basis for legal, financial, or compliance decisions. Always verify critical information against the relevant state agency's records.
Intellectual property
The underlying business entity data is public record and not owned by us. Our API, website design, documentation, and software are our property. You may not copy or redistribute them without written permission.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, FreshFilings is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 90 days preceding the claim.
Termination
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account page. We may terminate or suspend access for violations of these terms, with or without notice.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will notify subscribers by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, without regard to conflict of law principles.
